Towel Grab exercise

Towel Grab exercise

Note:  This might not be ideal for some foot issues. Contact me for questions.

In a Pilates studio, in-person, maybe you’ve heard your teacher say to practice the towel exercise at home?  You’re wondering what that is?

Grab a hand towel, and a chair, and here we go!

Setup:  Place your towel on the floor.  Sit tall with your sitz bones at the edge of your chair.

Movement:  Place just the balls and toes of your feet on the towel.  Now keeping your heels down, lift the balls of your feet up, and grab the towel with your toes, and pull it back towards your heels.  Repeat as many times until nothing moves with the towel.  Then reverse the movement.  Keeping the heels down, lift the balls of your feet up, and push the towel away with your toes.  Repeat as many times until hopefully the towel ends up just under the balls and toes of your feet when you first started this exercise.  3-5 reps.

You may start to feel warm through your legs and seat and belly.
